The Way of the Bow
It finds its origins in the fights led by the Japanese Samurais.
Today, it is a Martial Art that combines body and mind.
It is an inner journey towards perfection, harmony and serenity.
Under certain circumstances,
For a brief moment,
Truth can emerge from a single glance.
To have the privilege of sharing that intimacy,
It is enough to think and breathe in unison.
When the wave meets the shore,
Sometimes it seems surprised,
Sometimes upset.
Its mood is always visible
When it offers itself to the Earth and the Air,
With fury or gentleness.
So that a moment cannot slip away,
It is enough to show interest and respect.
To preserve its flavour and not to distort it,
To capture it delicately with a glance,
With a frame and a simple click.
A skylight,
A ray of light,
A half-closed door,
A glow,
An invitation.
In the tumult of life,
In the shock of surprise,
Sometimes everything comes to a standstill.
The action freezes,
The noise disappears,
The breath is held,
Time seems suspended.
To ensure their future,
All living species must adapt.
All must seduce if they are to reproduce.
Flowers have opted for a strategy of display.
A multitude of shapes, colours and scents.
An ingenious display of vigour for their pollinators.
When a cyclone moves away,
It leaves a very large swell in its wake.
If the wind comes to the party,
the waves can then break out of the ocean.
Over time and through evolution,
Where water is even more precious,
To protect their reserves,
Some plants have grown thorns.
Dreaded thorns,
Dreaded thorns,
Fascinating,
Eloquent.
In the tropics,
The sun sets so quickly that it seems drunk with fatigue.
Then, before taking its leave, it sets the sky on fire.
The colours become intense and the gradations subtle.
The contours become more pronounced and the silhouettes come to life.
No filters, no tricks,
Nor any digital manipulation.
The shapes, lines and colours
are the result of a choice made at the time of shooting,
To translate the energy of a place,
The beauty of a movement
Or even
The originality of a moment.
